National exhibition of visual arts at Amritsar concludes

Jammu, Aug 13: The national exhibition of Visual Arts by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) at Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA), Amritsar (Punjab) concluded with a valedictory ceremony.
The event was attended by Sunil Dutti, MLA who was the chief guest, Luxmi Kanta Chawla was the guest of honour and Rekha Mahajan Deputy DEO was the special guest of the occasion. Participating and local artists, writers and intellectuals attended the ceremony.
While welcoming the guests OP Sharma, Director, JKCCA gave a brief introduction and objective to organize exhibition at Amritsar. He said that the effort was made to spread the word of brotherhood among the artist community. He informed that the works of 46 young, senior and veteran artists from eleven states of the country were displayed in the show.
He also told that he works of Ganesh Kumar Sharma, Jang S Verman, Kamal Nain Bhan, O P Sharma and Aslam Naqishbandi (J&K) and K S Gill (Punjab) have been displayed in the Invitees' Section of the Exhibition.
Sunil Dutti, in his address appreciated the efforts of JKCCA to organize national art events at Amritsar. He said that the artists of Amritsar must have been benefited by the exposure given by the art works of artists from other states.
Luxmi Kanta Chawla appreciated the role of JKCCA in bringing its shows at Amritsar. Madam Rekha Mahajan Deputy DEO also appreciated the roll of JKCCA working for permotion of Art Culture and Literature in the country.The artists whose works have been displayed in the show include Antima Manhas, Deepa Soni, Payal Chadha Gupta, Nidhi Jain, Ganesh Kumar Sharma, Amrit Kaur, Rouf Qyasi, Sunita Gandhi, Soumya, Ojas, Rayees , Sheikh Gulam Rasool, Mushtaq Barq, Mudasir Rehman Dar,Shivani Koul Bhat, Mushtaque Ali Khan, Kaunain Zubair, Tsring Youdol(J&K); Dharminder Sharma, Gaytri, Sanjeev Kumar Bansal, Atul Matoo, Harsimrat Kour, Mala Chawla, Ravinder Dhillon, Nisha, Arjun Yadav and Sahil Sodhi, Kavi Chouhan (Punjab); Dr. Mamta Singh (Uttarakhand); Dr. Rekha Rani Sharma, Pratima Singh, Dr. Disha Dinesh, Dr. Rashmi Saxsena, Dr. Neelam Kanth and Dr. Sagufta Khanam (Uttar Pradesh); Pankaj Raina and Sunita Handoo (Chandhigarh); Minu Dey (West Bengal); Prerana Mitra (Madhya Pradesh)and Deepika Sehrawat (Haryana), Shressha Srinivas (New Delhi).
The other eminent personalities who attended the function were K S Gill, Dharminder Sharma, Atul Mattu, Sahil Sodhi, Kavi Chouhan, Arjun Yadav, Mala Chawla, Ravinder Dhillon, Sanjeev Kumar Bansal, Gaytri, Ganesh Kumar Sharma, Sunita Handoo, Pankaj Raina, Nisha and Joginder Sharma.
