Guru Ravi Dass Sabha holds protest in support of Bharat Bandh

Jammu, Aug 13: A grand protest demonstration was organized by all branches of J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Jammu with co-operation of different organsiations of SC/ST/OBC and minorities communities in connection to Bharat Bandh.
The Bharat Bandh call was given by saints of Ravidasia Samaj alongwith social and religious organization of SC/ST/OBC and minorities. Thousands of people assembled at Press Club of Jammu at 10.00 a.m and shouted slogans against Delhi Development Authority, Govt. of India.
While addressing the gathering Sham Lal Basson-President All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and General Secretary Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bahu Fort, Jammu apprised the media person and people assembled at Press Club Jammu about the background of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Gurudwara at Tugalkabad Delhi because he visited the Gurudwara Tugalkabad Delhi 4 days ago and collected all records of land where Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj was constructed. After renovation this Gurudwara was inaugurated by Shri Jagjeevan Ram former Dy. Prime Minister and former Defence Minister on 01 Mar 1959. The land record is available from 1948. Even then Delhi Development Authority did not hesitate to dismantle Gurudwara.
This historic Gurudwara was dismantled on 10th August 2019 early in the morning which sent shock wave not only in India but the world over. The people of Bahujan Samaj especially Ravidasia samaj started agitations just after dismantling of Gurudwara all over India. Protest demonstrations were also held in J&K also.
Thousands of people assembled at Press Club Jammu moved towards the Tawi Bridge at 11.30 a.m and blocked the Tawi Bridge. Hundreds of women started Bhajan Kirtan at Tawi bridge. The police authority tried to push people to clear Tawi Bridge without giving memorandum to the representative from the office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu. But the people did not move an inch without giving memorandum.
The memorandum addressed to the President of India was handed over to Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu.
C. L. Banal (Retd) IGP and Chairman Shri Guru Ravi Dass S. S. Trust, Jammu and Ashok Kumar Atri (Retd.) Dy. Inspector General of Police thanked all those religious and social organizations of SC/ST/OBC and minorities who joined this grand protest alongwith people.
It was unanimously resolved by the people joining protest demonstration to join Grand Rally at Jantar Mantar Delhi on 21st August 2019. The call has been given by 108 Sant Sukhdev ji Maharaj President All India Ravidasia Dharam Sangathan, saints of Ravidasia Samaj and Religious and Social organisations of SC/ST/OBC and minorities. The lakhs of people are going to join grand rally at Jantar Mantar Delhi on 21-085-2019.
