3 Narcotic smugglers held with 200 grams heroine

Jammu, Aug 13: Udhampur Police today claimed to have arrested narcotic smugglers with 200 gram heroin from their possession.
Giving details SSP Udhampur said a patrolling party of Police Station Udhampur during patrolling and surprise checking of vehicles at Sangoor Chowk on NHW-44, the police party intercepted one vehicle XUV bearing registration no. JK14C 8361 for thorough search. During search of said vehicle, 190 grms of heroin (chitta) alongwith one sharp edged Weapon (Toka) were recovered from the possession of three narcotic smugglers. The identity of these narcotic smugglers was established as Surinder Singh, Hamraj Singh and Ranbir Singh were arrested on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR no.383/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS, 4/25 arms act stands registered in PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up. Worthwhile to mention here that Udhampur Police was trying to apprehend these kingpins along with consignment since long time and ultimately succeded in apprehending them today. Police is also working on the involvement of other narcotic smugglers in this illigal narcotic trade so that the innocent youth of Udhampur and its surrounding s could be saved from the menace of drug addiction.
In another case, during a naka at Dhar road near hospital for checking of vehicles, police naka party intercepted two suspected persons at naka point who were on his own way towards main bazaar on foot. The said persons was immediately nabbed by police and during their personal search 10 grms of heroine was recovered from the accused namely Shoaib Shabir Bandey and Naresh Kumar were arrested on spot. In this connection, a case FIR No. 377/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
