| Ladakh prepares for Independence Day, full dress rehearsals held | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 13: As part of preparations for the Independence Day 2019, Leh and Kargil districts today witnessed full dress rehearsals with massive participation of students, district administration and locals.
At Leh, full dress rehearsal for Independence day was held at Leh Polo-ground where Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by various contingents. Besides, cultural programmes were performed on the occasion by the school children. Officers from civil and district administration besides locals were present on the occasion.
At Kargil, the full dress rehearsal for Independence Day celebration was held at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium Bemathang Kargil with Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Sonam Chosjor unfurling the tricolour and taking salute at the march past presented by contingents of J&K Police, NCC, Police Band Party besides educational institutions.
Senior officers and officials from civil and Police administration were present on the occasion.
A cultural programme was presented by the students of different schools and artists of Cultural Academy.
Meanwhile, full dress rehearsals were also held at Sub Division Drass, Shakar Chiktan, Sankoo and Zanskar. |
