After Azad, Chidambaram and Aiyar, Priyanka opposes abrogation of Article 370, reorganization of J&K
8/13/2019 10:56:44 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 13: After the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Union HM P Chidambaram, Leader of Congress Legislature Party in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, former minister Mani Shankar Aiyar and former MP CM Digbijay Singh, Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi has opposed the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A and bifurcation of J&K into UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh. She on Tuesday said that the Narendra Modi Government abrogated Article 370 in an unconstitutional manner.
This precisely has been the line Pakistan has adopted since August 5, 2019, when HM Amit Shah moved statutory resolution on abrogation of Article 370 and Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019, in the Rajya Sabha. Both the resolution and the Bill were adopted the same day. Islamabad has been denouncing the Modi Government saying it had no power to alter the political map of J&K and remove Article 370. In Addition, Pakistani establishment and media have been using the outrageous statements being made by Congress leaders, including Ghulam Nabi Azad, P Chidambaram, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and Mani Shankar Aiyar and Digbijay Singh to criticize the Modi Government and its initiatives on Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
All these Congress leaders have been making such ridiculous statements as "the Narendra Modi Government has created Palestine out of J&K", "the Modi Government would not have abrogated the state's special status, had it been a Hindu-majority state," "the Modi Government has converted Kashmir into a concentration camp and interfered in matters J&K which were being monitored by the United Nations", "Kashmir will slip out of India's hands", "the Modi Government has massacred J&K State and eroded the identity of the Kashmiri people (read Kashmiri Muslims", "the Modi Government has snatched J&K from the people using muscle power", and so on.
No wonder then that the BJP has been terming the Congress party as the spokesperson of Pakistan or has been accusing the Congress party of toeing the Pakistani line to harm the Indian interests. "The Congress is toeing the Pakistani line to harm the country and it will pay a very heavy price," the BJP has been saying. Indeed, the Congress is digging its own political grave by going against the national mood.
