Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 17: To apprise the central leadership of some of the immediate concerns of the people of Jammu region in the wake of Re-organization of J&K, a delegation of Panthers Party leaders shall be meeting various central leaders in New Delhi from tomorrow onwards who have already been requested to grant audience to the JKNPP team. This was stated by Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today. Harsh Dev said that Panthers Party team would be including Ex-MLAs of the party besides other senior leaders who would invite the attention of the central leadership about the fallout of the latest development and certain genuine concerns being expressed by the people. The JKNPP delegation besides seeking withdrawal of restrictions on internet services in Jammu region would apprise the Union Govt and President about the wrongful confinement of Jammu based leaders who had been placed under house arrest without any justifiable reasons, said Singh. Pointing towards the uncertainty created over the issue of Delimitation, Harsh Dev said that the NPP stood for appropriate legislation to increase the number of seats of Jammu region so that the issue of political imbalance between the two regions was addressed in the right perspective. He said that there were some infirmities and ambiguities in the J&K Re-organization Act which shall also be discussed. Apart from the issue of Delimitation, the JKNPP leaders would discuss with the central leadership the desirability of enactment of domicile laws for J&K so as to protect the lands of state subjects from getting into the hands of outside land mafia and to further protect the interests of local youth in the Employment, revealed Singh. He said that downgrading of state to Union Territory shall also be discussed and agitated.
