Jammu, Aug 17: An old-age widow lady has sought action against Tehsildar Jammu, Patwari and Gridawar of not initiating action for providing compensation of allegedly encroached land to her.
"I prayed for the compensation at current market rate in accordance with provisions of Land Acquisition Act for occupation and use of land measuring eight marlas comprising Khasra No. 18, 19 and 20, Khewat No.1 situated at Gurha Shabilian, Jammu," said Subadra Devi, wife of Late Krishan Singh, resident of Gurah Chabilian.
"I am owner of land measuring 08 Marlas comprising Khasra No. 18, 19 and 20, Khewat No.I situated at Gurha Shabilian, Jammu and Jammu Municipal Corporation have laid tiles on the proprietary land," she said adding that she approached the Jammu Municipal Corporation for the removal of the tiles as the land is exclusively owned and possessed by HER.
"The Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Municipal Corporation, Jammu, in pursuance of the representation filed by her has directed the Tehsildar Jammu on December 12, 2018 to demarcate the land under reference and furnish the detailed report, but neither demarcation has been made nor any action has been taken for removal of the tiles," she alleged.
She said Court also gave a direction to the Tehsildar, Jammu to consider her case for demarcation of the land under reference as per rules and regulations governing the matter and furnish report to the Assistant Commissioner (Rev) but nothing has been done till date.
She also levelled allegations against Tahsildar of Jammu for allegedly harassed her and her family members. "My plot was covered with tiles by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and later I am move towards the Court for removal of tiles from my plot," she said adding that after court decision of demarcation of land, municipal officers had not taken any action till date.
Tehsildar changed Khasra No 18 into 16 of their land, she said. "We also met Patwari and Girdawar but they also refused to listen to our issue," she said and appealed to Government Satyal Pal Malik to look into her matter and provide her justice.
"We visit from pillar to post to seek the justice but no action was taken. I was very preoccupied with this issue, so I approached the revenue department officials but got no help," she said. She said that every time they attempted to approach the revenue officials seeking clarification, the officers failed to address the matter.
