| Restore statehood to J&K without delay: Balwan Singh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 18: Senior Congress leader Balwan Singh has asked the Government of India to immediately reverse its decision of making Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory .J&K should be restored its statehood in accordance with the wishes of the people of all the regions of the state. In a statement here on Sunday, Balwan Singh said that the conversion of the J&K as a UT after the bifurcation of the state , has not only downgraded the status of the state that stood as crown of the country, but also it has created serious doubts in the minds of the people. " No one is happy with the UT status for the state that was pride of our country all along. BJP has inflicted severe wounds on the body politic of the state , it must be reversed in the national interest," he said . He also warned that this could become a festering wound and cause more problems than it is intended to solve. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have promised the restoration of the state. They should walk the talk. |
