Udhampur, Aug 18: Members of NGO Jiyo aur jeene condemned the excess usage of plastic material in the city like plastic thread used for kite flying. While addressing the press conferrence , the President of NGO Tariq Shah said , " These are the days of Festivals . Recently Rakshabandhan was celebrated with enthusiasm and in coming days Janamashtami is coming in which children and others also fly kites.At such time the district administration shall ensure that plastic thread should not be sold in shops and markets.This is already prohibitted by the government but its still being sold and used which is very sad..Not only this the plastic disposable glasses , bottles are banned in government offices. Our Prime Minister has also appealed people to minimise the use of plastic to reduce plastic waste . Daily a large amount of garbage is comprising plastic which is quite alarming situation for us. Hence we apeeal the district administration to bann the sale and usage of all such harmful items. Along with President Tariq Shah ,Rakesh , Sahil, Ritupriya , Aquib and others were present. |
