DDC Ramban reviews progress on NH-44 four laning project, resolves bottlenecks

RAMBAN, Aug 18: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today convened a meeting to resolve bottlenecks and other confronting issues of prestigious four laning project of NH-44.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Anita Sharma, ACR, Harbans Lal, Dy.SP Traffic, Suresh Sharma besides senior officers of Police and district administration, representatives of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and other allied agencies working on the mega project.
The DDC discussed the important issues and passed necessary directions for timely redressal of the same.
The DDC constituted a committee of officers headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, comprising Dy.SP Headquarter and Dy.SP Traffic to monitor construction work besides ensuring coordination between administration and construction agencies.
The DDC directed the Engineers of construction companies to present a power point presentation on Plan, progress, status of land acquisition, physical achievements besides apprising about bottlenecks.
Officers were directed to immediately provide NOC in all cases pending in their respective offices.
The DDC also directed the agencies to submit the list of contractors along with their working locations, contact numbers and list of machines and equipments available at construction sites.
The DDC further directed the concerned agencies to dump the muck only in identified dumping sites and instructed the representatives of the executing companies to strictly follow the terms and conditions laid down in the contract agreement. Criminal proceedings shall be initiated against the violators in this regard, he added.
The DDC resolved various confronting issues and bottlenecks on the spot and directed the construction agencies for proper maintenance of existing national highway by way of constructing crush barrier, protection walls, drainages alongside highway in order to regulate the free flow of traffic.
Issues including land acquisition especially for Hot Mix plant and muck dumping yard were also discussed.
