Back to village Program: 312 identified works started

Rajouri, Aug 19: District Administration Rajouri has started 312 works identified during the Back to village Program.
The information was given here at a meeting convened to review the performance of Rural Development Department with District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad in the chair.
Initiation of works projected during B2V programme, progress regarding construction of bunkers, registration of beneficiaries under PMAY scheme, opening of accounts for the panchayats, execution of works under 14th FC were reviewed in the meeting.
Assistant Commissioner Development Akther Qazi said that one work in each panchayat has been identified in the district. He informed that the works shall also be taken up under 14th FC and an amount of Rs 50 crore has been released for the execution of work.
Regarding the construction of bunkers by RDD, the block development officers briefed about the physical and financial status. It was informed that over 500 bunkers have been completed and the rest will be completed within the shortest possible time.
Briefing about the PMAY scheme, the block development officers informed about the number of beneficiaries registered till date. They said that the process of registration is in progress and will be completed shortly.
It was further informed that the bank account for each panchayat has been opened and the funds under the 14th FC funds have been transferred.
The DDC directed the Block Development Officers to prepare the estimates for the works reflected during the back to village programme within four days. He said that the said work should be taken up on top priority.
Regarding the opening of maize Mandi at Siot, the DDC directed the Block Development Officer to start work at identified land.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Shama-Un Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Development Akhter Qazi, ,Chief sheep Husbandry officer, Chief Animal Husbandry officer, officers for agriculture Department, Horticulture department,District Panchayat Officer Dr.Abdul Khabir and concerned Block Development Officers.
