Kailash Kund Yatra arrangements discussed

UDHAMPUR, Aug 19: In order to discuss necessary arrangements for 3-day annual Kailash Kund yatra, commencing from August 27, 2019 in Sub- Division (Dudu) of Udhampur district, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh convened a meeting of officers here on Monday.
Detailed discussion was held on various arrangements pertaining to smooth conduct of three day pilgrimage like supply of essential commodities, installation of drinking water points at different locations enroute base camp at Dudu to Seoj Dhar, adequate medicare, transport facilities, provision of tents and blankets besides other basic amenities.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dudu-Basantgrah, was appointed as Nodal Officer who would supervise arrangements from base camp, Dudu to Kailash Kund and establish a control room at Dudu to ensure smooth conduct of the yatra.
The ADC directed the heads of concerned departments to put in place all the arrangements well in advance for smooth conduct of the yatra. ARTO, Udhampur was asked to press additional buses from different routes leading to Dudu for the convenience of the yatris.
The ADC directed the CMO to provide proper medical facilities to the pilgrims at the base camp and enroute. He was directed to deploy medical teams at base camp and at Seoj Dhar. PWD was directed to ensure repairing of road from Chenani to Dudu and enroute Kailash Yatra. Tehsildar were directed to provide adequate number of tents and blankets to yatries.
