| Congress criticizes BJP for betraying people on statehood | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19: Senior Congress leader Vinod Sharma has blamed BJP of betraying the people of Jammu on the issue of statehood and misleading the people on various issues including the evacuee property act and Custodian department, which is intact, as before and not disbanded.
In a statement Sharma said that BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu region again on the issue of statehood and reduced the state into a UT, thus depriving the people of all powers and identity. BJP has punished Jammu too for giving it huge mandate time and again.
The people are being exploited emotionally that Kashmir has been reduced to UT but questioned what Jammu has gained when it lost Dogra identity, powers and status besides facing influx of people from outside taking away our lands and share in employment. Now State BJP talks of safeguards after feeling resentment amongst youth but why these ignorant leaders failed to protect rights of our future generations, while amending Article 370.
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP for misleading the occupants and allottees of Evacuee Property regarding ownership to them, Sharma said that evacuee property Act and the Custodian Dept. are intact as before and not disbanded. BJP people are befooling the people on this count, who claim that allottees of EP property have become owners. He questioned BJP to explain their position on various apprehensions in the mind of people. |
