Srinagar, Aug 19: Director of Information Dr. SehrishAsgaron Monday informed that in Srinagar district out of 190 schools that were opened, staff reaching from 30 to 50 % were present in 166 schools however, the attendance in the schools were thin. And similar was the case in other districts as well. Further, day after tomorrow government of Jammu and Kashmir will reopen middle schools from Wednesday of the valley".
She added that regarding attendance of government offices, all essential services of P.H.E, P.D.D, health food and service supplies, they all are deployed and on the job. In the civil secretariat Srinagar, where the attendance was one third, while as on the Monday the attendance reached about 98 percent".
Director Information said that relaxation has been ordered in respective districts by the district magistrates within their territorial jurisdiction in almost of the half police station in the valley. There has been no major law and order situation reported the valley. Life is slowly returning to normal, people have been cooperative. She added, "Also in Jammu no law and order situation has been reported. Some rumors were spread yesterday by certain elements. The government urges people not to believe in any kind of rumor mongering by the western interest".
Director School of Education Younis Malik said that in Srinagar out of 196 schools, where we have a network of 500 schools in Srinagar district where it was notified that schools at primary level will open on Monday. In 72 schools, there was a thin attendance of students and staff percentage was 30 to 50 percent. In Budgam 68 schools were declared to be open up at primary level and staff was present in 35 schools and student in range of 4 to 12 were present in the schools.
He added, "In Ganderbal 216 primary schools were declared to be open today and the attendance of the staff was from 30 to 40 percent and students attendance was 18 percent. In Shopian 10 to 12 schools were open with no attendance of student. In Kulgam, in Tangmarg area seventy percent staff was present and student's attendance was thin. While in Anantnag, out of 1100 primary schools, 89 primary schools were open. 126 teachers were present and students were present 39. In Baramulla, 322 primary schools were open and staff presence was forty percent and student's attendance was twenty percent.
He added that in Bandipora, 35 percent of Primary schools were opened and percentage of students was 10 to 12 percent. While as in Kupwara, 137 primary schools were open and staff percentage was 32 to 40 percent.
Deputy Inspector of General Central Kashmir V.K. Virdi (kindly check spelling, editor) said that as far as the law and order is concerned there was no major law and order incident was noticed. All the places were relaxation was given were peaceful. While as some minor incident of stone pelting in certain pockets which were dealt with as per the law. The situation is being monitored very closely and situation is returning back to the normal.
