Jammu, Aug 20: Sangathan Working Committee (SWC) of Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party, met in the Party HQs under the Chairmanship of Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu, General Secretary, and deliberated upon growing anguish among the party rank and file over prolonged detention of their leader Ch. Lal Singh. It was decided to approach the authorities at the highest level in the state and if still not released soon, the party leaders will meet Central leaders in Delhi to raise the issue of house arrest of its top leader who is a nationalist to the core besides being a popular mass leader who has been Member of Parliament twice and Cabinet Minister in the State thrice. SWC also passed a unanimous resolution to intimate the Central and State govts that Jammu & Kashmir falls in the category of Himalayan States which enjoy constitutional protection of its river waters, ecology and natural resources. SWC appeals the govt of India to initiate actions to provide full administrative immunity to prevent exploitation of J&K's rich and abundant natural resources including forests, their produce, rivers and glaciers. DSSP is for total ban on indiscriminate land exploitation in Jammu region. It is also for ban on purchase of land by outsiders. |
