Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 20: Terming abrogation of Article 370 by the union government as a historical and welcome step, the traders of Apsara Road, Gandhi Nagar Jammu said that the decision of scrapping special status provision to the state will open new avenues for the people adding that few apprehensions raised by certain quarters has no sound base or logic.
Talking to Early Times, several businessmen operating their trades in posh Aspsara Road market in one voice supported the repealing of Article 370 saying that it was a major road block in complete integration of J&K with the rest of the nation adding that a historical mistake committed more than seven decades ago has been befittingly corrected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
"Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah deserve the accolades for the courageous decision. Thanks to their decisive action, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari-India is now one," said Subhash Gupta and Mohit Gupta of Shivangi Electronics, Apsara Road, Gandhi Nagar.
While appreciating the abrogation of Article 370, Indu Bhushan Sharma of Surya Sales Corporation, and Mohan Singh said that it was a long pending demand of every individual who is nationalist and loves the country from the core of his or her heart adding that for the people of the state it is a moment to cherish always.
Responding to the query on adverse affects being experienced by the public in general and business community in particular after the abrogation of Article 370, the traders said that it is just a passing phase and the things will be back to normal sooner than later.
"Though some losses have been incurred by us due to Section 144 restrictions and the snapping of mobile internet facility by the authorities in order to maintain law and order in the city immediately after the scrapping of Article 370 but we have no regrets as anything for the good of nation is never bigger than some odd profits," the traders said.
"The country needs everybody's support for the bold decision as the nation will get further strengthened by this step. The losses we are experiencing presently will be recovered in the future. It is a small contribution from our side in nation building," they added
