DYSS organises Inter Zone District Level Tournament

Kathua, Aug 21: The Department of Youth Services and Sports District Kathua organized Inter Zone District Level Tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball for U-19 boys at Sports Stadium Hiranagar, Badminton and Table Tennis for U-19 boys and girls at Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar and Football for boys and girls at Govt. HSS Chandwan. The tournament was inaugurated by Sub Division Magistrate Hiranagar Suresh Chander Sharma in the presence of DYSSO Kathua Sh. Sunil Kumar, ZPEOs Yog Raj Sharma, Kailash Chander, Sukesh Sharma, Pardeep Singh, Satpaul. A total of 370 players of all 12 zones of district Kathua participated in today's events. Zone Hiranagar, Kathua and Sallan excelled in Kabaddi, Volleyball and Kho-Kho respectively. Again Sallan win the trophy of Girls Football. Kabaddi U-19 Boys. Zone Hiranagar defeated Zone Kathua by 10 points in final. Volleyball. Zone Kathua trounced the host Hiranagar by 2-1 sets. Kho-Kho. Zone Sallan crushed Lakhanpur by 7 points. Football U-19 years Girls. Zone Sallan defeated zone Kathua by 1-0 goals. Table Tennis U-19 Boys. Vinayak of Barnoti outplayed Pankaj of Kathua by 2-1 sets in singles and in Doubles the pair of Laksha and Chitesh of Kathua trounced Ajay and Anshu of Mahanpur zone by 2-0 sets.
