Reorganisation of J&K and revocation of Article 370 & 35-A is an internal matter of India
8/21/2019 10:50:59 PM
The United States is deeply concerned about the growing of tension in Kashmir. Though he has rejected Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan's, plea to mediate on Kashmir he has simply advised the two prime Ministers, Modi and Khan to sit together and resolve the issue which may assumed the shape of serious tension. The US President Donald Trump has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Imran Khan to work towards reducing tension in the region over Kashmir, describing the situation as "tough". Trump asked Khan over phone the other day to "moderate rhetoric" with India, soon after a 30-minute conversation with Modi, during which the Indian leader raised the issue of "extreme rhetoric and incitement to anti-India violence" by leaders of Pakistan.
"Spoke to my two good friends, Prime Minister Modi of India, and Prime Minister Khan of Pakistan, regarding Trade, Strategic Partnerships and, most importantly, for India and Pakistan to work towards reducing tensions in Kashmir," the US President said in a tweet. Modi is said to have conveyed to Trump that since the issue of Kashmir is bilateral and wish to address the problem through bilateral talks but Pakistan has been raising each every hurdle to defeat these bilateral talks. India has already conveyed to Trump that since Pakistan is not prepared to prevent export terror to Kashmir hence talks cannot take place. And every time Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire for the purpose of pushing groups of militants into Jammu and Kashmir for raising the level of violence.
"Trump had a good conversation which he described as over a tough issue. Earlier this month, India abrogated provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution to withdraw Jammu and Kashmir's special status and bifurcated the state into Union Territories, evoking strong reactions from Pakistan. Why should Pakistan react against abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A which is an internal matter. Besides this the reorganisation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir is a normal one as India has carried reorganisation of several states. But Pakistan claims part of Kashmir and that is the reason for its cry against reorganisation of the state. Since the Kashmir issue is a disputed territory Pakistan has a reason to cry against abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A. But several countries including the Russia and the US have described the reorganisation and revocation of Article 370 an d Article 35-A as an internal issue.
