| Plantation drive conducted | | |  Early Times Report
reasi, Aug 21: A plantation drive was organized at Poultry Demonstration Centre Kambaldanga Reasi on 21-08-2019 in collaboration with Forest department Reasi. Divisional Forest Officer Reasi, Anil Kumar Attri graced the occasion by being the Chief Guest. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Reasi Dr. Ramesh Razdan played a pivotal role in organising the event and the required publicity campaign prior to it. Large number of Panches, Sarpanch and other renowned personalities also actively participated in the event. Locals too contributed in the drive by being a part of the entire event. Around 50 saplings of different plant species were planted during the drive. Chief Guest spoke about the glooming issue of climate change and its likely impact over our lives and stressed the importance of large-scale plantations to mitigate the impact of climate change. Dr Razdhan enlightened the gathering of significance of trees in prevention of damages caused by the devastating floods which are quite recurrent in our region. Dr Anil Kumar, incharge PDC Kambaldanga concluded the event while stressing upon conducting more such afforestation drives in a regular manner and presented the note of thanks. |
