Jammu, Aug 21: Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta on Wednesday said that new dawn is awaiting people of Jammu.
Carrying forward his mass contact programme in Gangyal area Munish said, "The Centre re-organising Jammu and Kashmir has provided a chance to people of Jammu to break the tradition and vote for a change."
"The upcoming polls are the golden opportunity for the people to hold politicians accountable and asked them what they (leaders) have done for common people during all these years", said Munish who would be contesting upcoming assembly elections as an Independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
Munish said, "I have taken a plunge into politics with a hope that I will be able to change the discourse and serve my people, who have been at the receiving end for the past 70 years."
He said, "During my ongoing mass contact programme, I have realise that people are yearning for change and they are fed up of the existing set up, which has given them nothing except mere assurances."
Munish said, "If he wins the elections, he would ensure that people don't remain deprived the basis amenities and get what they deserve." "I'm thankful to the people for their support and encouragement. I hope they will strengthen my hands to change Jammu's destiny", he added.
