Jammu, Aug 22: YCET achieved another mile stone by the inauguration of Internet of Things (IOT) lab today by Er. Arun Gupta, Territory Manager, Voltas ltd. Amongst the others who attended the event were Dr. Anoop Kumar Srivastava , Director YCET, Er. B.R Verma , Chief Coordinator YCET, Sandeep Pandita, Head SPO, coordinators ,HOD's, faculty members and students.
While interacting with the students Director YCET said that this is an extra ordinary step initiated by the management for students as a part of knowledge enhancement. YCET is the only engineering college in the state having an IOT lab which is beyond curriculum.
There were different sensors and various allied kits. IOT Lab is a research platform exploring the potential of crowd sourcing and Internet of Things for multidisciplinary research with more end-user interactions. It gives the power to be at the core of the research and innovation process. It's a great instrument that can change the world and the way we understand it.
Students were also made aware of the impact IOT has caused in daily lives like sensor-based gates, biometric system, smart phones, and moisture detector and many more ways. Students were encouraged to make use of this opportunity and enhance their skills to be in sync with the current technological trends which can make them more employable in this competitive world. |
