Close door meeting between an SHO and kingpin of willow- cleft/polythene smuggling business, raises eyebrows

Jammu, Aug 22: A close door meeting between the Station House Officer (SHO) of a border police station along with the kingpin of willow cleft and polythene smuggling, has raised many eyebrows and signals towards a deal reached between both.
Sources informed Early Times that the kingpin of the willow-cleft smuggling and polythene carry bags smuggling in the district, was called by the SHO for a meeting in the police station. "The closed doors meeting continued for over an hour and what transpired in the meeting is still unknown but the past record of the involved officials speak a lot", sources said.
They informed that the kingpin of the willow cleft smuggling was working in a government department and had a case pending against him in the same police station under various sections including 120 of CRPC and for illegal transporting polythene carry bags in a truck.
"The kingpin had been working in the same area and is known for smuggling of willow cleft as well as polythene carry bags, by using the clout of his department. "Some time back he had an alteration with the police department over the seizure of a truck by the police after which a case was lodged by police against him and his brother", sources said, adding that in the short tenure of his job, he has accumulated a large amount of wealth, disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Sources said that the SHO was known as a national highway route expert and was felicitating various works and has also collected a huge wealth through various means in his tenure. "There are possibilities that both of them are close to power corridors and probably a deal might be finalized or in offing between two, so that both will be benefited in near future", sources said.
