DC reviews implementation of BBBP, hints at mega conclave for women PRI members soon

Rajouri, Aug 23: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today held a meeting with the District Level Task Force and other non official members to review implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padao (BBBP) scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Liaqat Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Development, Akhtar Qazi, Chief Medical officer, Dr.Sunil Sharma, Chief Education Officer, MA Rather, District Panchayat Officer Abdul Khabir, Deputy Director Planning, Bilal Mir, District Social Welfare Officer, Mohd Naseeb, Block Medical officers, Zonal Education Officers, Administrator OSC, Neetu Sharma, Legal cum Probationary Officer, Shivangi Kant and District Women Coordinator and Women Welfare Officer MSK Rajouri.
The nodal officer BBBP gave a comprehensive presentation on all the activities carried out in the district during the last financial year besides submitting action plan of activities to be undertaken during this financial year.
The meeting had thorough deliberation on various issues of concern like child sex ratio, infant mortality rate, ratio of drop out girl child, class wise gender ratio, implementation of PC&PNDT Act in the district and related issues.
Nodal officer BBBP informed that there is considerable improvement in the child sex ratio besides significant drop in the infant mortality rate in the district.
Chief Medical Officer informed that the Rotavirus vaccination campaign shall be rolled out from 28th of August which has been incorporated with the Pentavalent vaccination.
Deputy Commissioner urged upon all to contribute towards effective implementation of programmes being conducted under BBBP. He asked the departments to prepare an event calendar of the activities to be conducted under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme in the district.
DC directed the Health authorities to strictly enforce the provisions of PC&PNDT Act in the district. He also asked the Chief Medical Officer to submit a micro plan of all the activities related to BBBP to be undertaken in the health institutions.
DC asked the District Youth Service and Sports Officer to submit a plan related to sports activities at zone and district level exclusively for the girl child. It was also decided in the meeting that the District Administration would organise a self defence training for girl child in the district.
Regarding sensitisation of women PRI members, it was decided in the meeting that a special lady conclave would be organized in the district under BBBP soon.
