GDC Udhampur organizes plantation drive

Udhampur, Aug 23: Government Degree College Udhampur today organized a plantation drive, which was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla.
According to press release, DDC planted a sapling of 'Golden Cyperus 'in the college Vatika to mark beginning of massive plantation drive by the students as a requirement under EVS project.
Singla appreciated the unique initiative of the college where each student will plant and take care of his / her tree to survival to get award in the project.
A 'pink toilet' fitted with 'Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine' and Incinerator, for female staff and students of the college was also inaugurated.
To promote the revival of our healthy heritage activities, Green Kite Flying Competition was also kicked off by Dr. Singla in the college playground. He congratulated the principal and faculty for taking such kind of innovative initiatives for the holistic up keep of the college ambience for better delivery to the students.
College senior faculty including Principal Nutun Resutra, Dr.Udhey Bhanu, Prof. Babu Lal Thakur, Prof. Romesh Kr.Atri, Prof. Suresh K.Dogra, Prof. Satish Kumar, Dr. Pankaj Sarsvat, Prof. Jawaid Sarver, Prof. Samosh Kumar, NCC Cadets and NSS volunteers attended the program. Dr. Rippy Bawa and Prof. Kamaldeep Kaur anchored the proceedings of the program.
