Early Times Report
srinagar, Aug 23: With the reopening of primary and middle schools having paved way for return of normalcy in Kashmir, the administration is now hopeful that the season of new admission for Kindergarten Classes in the schools will effectively work in bringing the restive valley back to normal at an earliest.
What has come as good omen for the administration is that season for admission today the KG classes in various schools across Kashmir has just commenced. Most of the schools in valley have issued notification for the dates for submission of forms and the subsequent interview. The leading schools have also issued notifications in particular for their staff to resume duties forthwith.
Thousands of parents and wards will be moving around in coming days to submit forms or face interview for the same. Sources said that admin is hopeful that the school interviews would play a key role in restoration of normalcy as the same had helped the government during previous unrest.
Citing example a senior officials told early times that during 2010 agitation the normalcy had finally returned when the schools were open and the interviews for the KG class were held. He said the same had held during the unrest of 2016 as well.
"Whatever may be the malafide intentions of the anti national elements but the fact is that every parents want the best education for his/ her ward and that is where the admin has an edge again," said an official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources in the police department said that adequate security arrangement would be in place outside schools to ensure that the admission season does its job without any fear or untoward incident taking place. Sources said that admin was willing to provide the requisite resources to schools facing problems in holding the anew admission. It pertinent to mention here that Director School Education Kashmir has been holding regular media briefing with regard to resumption of education activities in the valley.
Situation in the Kashmir has been uneasy since August 5 when Modi government took historic decision of scrapping the special status of Jammu and Kashmir State and to divide it into two Union Territory UTs.
