AICC castigates undemocratic behaviour of Government

Jammu, Aug 25: AICC Vichar Vibhag National Coordinator and former legislator Ashok Kumar Sharma has expressed serious concern over not allowing the opposition parliamentary delegation led by Rahul Gandhi to meet the people of J&K despite such offer by the Governor.
Sharma sought the intervention of the President of India to ensure restoration of democratic values in Jammu and Kashmir permitting the opposition leaders in the highest law making body free movement and interaction with the people of J&K.
Earlier also the former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad was restrain at Jammu and Srinagar Airports which was followed by restraining of other national leaders to meet the representatives of the people and political party leaders
"The democratic institutions like ours have two pillars i.e. the ruling and the opposition. Once the role of opposition is eliminated the process of democracy gets halted" added Sharma.
"Article 21 of the Constitution of India read with Article 19 provides quality of life, liberty, freedom of speech and expression to the citizens of India which in no case be allowed to jeopardized " further added the National Coordinator.
Among others who express their views in the meeting were Ch. Garu Ram, former Minister, Vinod Sharma, Ex-GS PCC, Hari Om Singh, former District and Session Judge and Vice Chairman, JKPCVV, Adv. Zahid Sarfraz Malik, State Coordinator JK PCVV, Jatinder Bhagat, President, Vichar Vibhag Jammu Rural.
