JAMMU, Aug 25: Expressing their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor Satya Pal Malik and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for fulfilling the long pending demands of Gujjars, several Gujjar leaders said that the community would immensely benefit with the decision.
Addressing a press conference here today at Press Club of Jammu, Col Dev Anand Gujjar President International Gujjar Mahasabha along with General Secretary Aditya Naggar, Younis Choudhary President Gujjar Maha Sabha J&K, Parkash Rao President Gujjar Mahasabha HP thanked for fulfilling the aspirations of J&K Gujjars. They welcomed the decision of Central Government for political reservation to J&K Gujjars and also fulfilling other demands like reservation in promotion and implementation of Forest Act etc. However, they demanded fresh survey of Gujjar community in J&K so that their actual number may be ascertained. They also hoped that their other demands like Gujjar Regiment, inclusion of Gojri language in 8th schedule of Indian Constitution shall also be fufilled. |
