No shortage of essential drugs, other medical products in Kashmir: DFCO

Srinagar, Sept 3: The Drug and Food Control Organization on Tuesday said that there is a sufficient stock of essential drugs and other medical products in Kashmir region.
The enforcement staff of Drug & Food Control Organization conducted thorough survey of retail outlets across the State. As per reports there is sufficient stock of medical products available with dealers.
The officials said that major companies operating in valley viz Sun Pharma, Lupin Ltd, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Cadila Pharmaceuticals , Zydus Healthcare, Intas Pharmaceuticals , Torrent Pharmaceuticals , Torrent Pharmaceuticals , Glenmark etc having their Depot/Super Stockists locations situated within State are providing regular supplies of almost all categories of drugs including Antidiabetic (Human Insulin) ,Antihypertensive , Anticancer & other specialized categories of Medical Products to their supply chain located across the valley unhindered.
It was given out that medicines worth Rs 50 crore approximately have been supplied to various distributors in the valley since 20th July 2019 till date.
The Heads of Healthcare institutions were informed to share any specific instance of shortage of any category of Medical Product to the Deputy Drugs Controller Jammu (Landline No. : 0191-2598094) and Deputy Drugs Controller, Kashmir (Landline No. : 0194-2495191).
While stakeholders were urged that they may register their genuine concerns at numbers of State Drugs Controller Jammu Office, (0191-253-8527), Srinagar Office, (0194-250-284).
