| Powergrid's NRT System-II gets new Executive Director | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3: Rakesh Kumar has taken over the charge of Northern Region Transmission System-II as Executive Director in the month of September 2019.
He shall be responsible for Asset Management and Project execution of EHV/UHV transmission lines and substation under Central Transmission Projects in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, parts of Haryana and UTs of J&K, Ladakh and Chandigarh.
He is a Silver Medalist in B.Tech (Electrical) from G.B. Pant University, Pant Nagar, Nainital, Uttarakhand. He is an exceptional professional in power sector and is considered an authority in HVDC power transmission system in the country. He has a diverse experience of more than 35 years in the power sector.
He joined power sector in NTPC as Engineer Trainee 8th batch in the year 1984 and then joined POWERGRID as Sr. Engineer in the year 1991.
Prior to his taking over the charge of NRTS-II he was heading the HVDC- Engineering Group of POWERGRID at Corporate Centre Gurugram. He has the rich experience of working as Chief General Manager in tough and challenging region of NR-1 comprising of the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Delhi.
Apart from his eminent contribution in the field of power transmission he has the exposure and experience of different power utilities of the world by having travelled worldwide. |
