| APCC hails PM for declaring Ladakh a UT | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3: All Party Coordination Committee under the banner of Ladakh Buddhist Association, Zanskar organized a press conference. Main participant of present press conference/ agitation was Ladakh Buddhist Association Zanskar, Zanskar Nambardar Association and All Zanskar Student Union, Jammu and imminent social activists.
The press conference were attended by Tsewang Chostar, president Ladakh Buddhist Association Zanskar, Shri Chhering Tandup, Shri Lobzang, Vice President All Zanskar Nambardar Association. They thanked to Union Government for declaring Ladakh as Union Territory and abolition of article 370 and 35 A, The demand of Union Territory was very long pending issue. We feel it like virtual independence. They appreciated the speech delivered by our MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal in the temple of democracy. It was felt first time that Ladakh was speaking and rest of our country are listening.
The prime agenda of the Press Conference is to Demand of District Status for Zanskar Sub-Division Seperate district demand is as old as demand of Union Territory ot Ladakh.
Zanskar 1 rans-Himalaya is an important geographical region having a significant history and civilization in our country. Zanskar was given special importance and preference from very beginning.
During the time of Maharaja Hari Singh Rule Zanskar have a representative called Praja Sabha (Equivalent of present MLA) in the council of Maharaja. |
