JAMMU, Sep 3: Urging upon the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to restore the state hood of the glorious state of the Dogras and protect the domiciled right of the people of this erstwhile state, also ensure that the 50,000 jobs promised by the governor recently are exclusively for the people of Jammu and Kashmir stated Vikram Malhotra -District President said while chairing a meeting of District Congress Committee members at jammu. Malhotra urged upon the Govt. to release the leaders of the Congress party who have been put under detention and arrested.
He further said that situation emerging out of the current bifurcation of the state, the restrictions imposed on mobile and internet services, the common man especially the business community is suffering a lot. The middle and small business establishments who were dependent of the movement of people from other parts of the UT and tourists continue to suffer. The problem of unemployment is rising and the government of the day should take steps at the earliest to mitigate their woes. Even the hotel industry is suffering as per reports published in certain section of the media. The Hotel industry which is largely dependent on the religious tourism continues to suffer since 5th August, with several booking already cancelled.
Vikram said PDD Department is turning a blind eye to the woes of the general public long unscheduled power cuts have become a order of the day. The common masses continue to suffer in this hot and humid summer. Water supply in most of the colonies is erratic adding to the miseries of the people.
