DC reviews BBBP, One Stop Centre for women in Samba

SAMBA SEPTEMBER 04: Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today chaired a meeting of district officers regarding implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and One Stop Centre for women in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, District Programme Officer, Jyoti Rani Salathia, Assistant Commissioner (development) M L Tasir, Chief Education Officer, Ram Pal, Chief Medical Officers Rajinder Samyal besides other officials were present in the meeting.

District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar, gave a detailed presentation on BBBP and One Stop Centre schemes. He informed that various activities were performed during preceding financial year which included development of digital gudda guddi boards, wall and table calendars, wall paintings, development of e-magazine, awareness programmes at block, district level and other outreach activities to generate maximum awareness among the people.

Enumerating about One Stop Centre in the district, DC directed the concerned officers for opening of women facilitation centre in the city with services of medical help, legal services, police assistance and counselling.

DC exhorted upon the concerned to involve Panchayati Raj Institutions in conducting awareness activities under BBBP for effective implementation of this ambitious scheme.

Later, Deputy Commissioner visited the newly constructed Bal Asharam at Mandi, Samba and took appraisal of functionality of the building. He directed the Executive PWD for early completion of building boundary wall.
