Employees condemn action of Police, demands release of arrested colleague

JAMMU, Sept 4: Employees of Transport department under the banner of various associations held protest demonstration against the police action in which an employee was arrested by Police.
In which, the employees under the banner of All J&K Motor Vehicles (Non-Gazetted) Employees Association (MVEA), Jammu in affiliation with Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee ( R ) condemned the action of Police and demanded release of arrested colleague as soon as possible.
State President, J & K Employees Joint Action Committee ( R ) Babu Hussain Malik held a meeting at the Regional Transport Office, Jammu wherein all Clerical Cadre employees of Motor Vehicles Department, Jammu Province were present.
The Union leaders condemned the action of Police in which Joginder Lal, Senior Assistant who was posted at ARTO Samba was arrested by Police without any proper enquiry by the department. The Union leaders also met with Regional Transport Officer, Jammu.
After a threadbare discussion , it was decided that the Pen down strike will remain continue till a proper assurance is given by higher authorities because of the fact that often clerical staff is being harassed by different investigating agencies on one pretext or the other and even they are being arrested without any enquiry of the department. A resolution was also passed which was sent to higher authorities.
Among others Kulwant Singh Sambyal, Vice President (EJAC), Ravi Singh Bhau, Hafiz-Ul-Rehman, President (MVEA), Nitin Pandoh (Vice President MVEA), Anju Jamwal (Secretary MVEA), Kh. Abdul Matine (Joint Secretary MVEA) and others were present.
