SWD invites online applications for pre-matric, post-matric, merit-cum-means based scholarships

SRINAGAR, Sept 4: Social Welfare Department (SWD) has invited online applications for Pre-matric, Post-matric and Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship for the students of Jammu and Kashmir belonging to the Minority Communities pursuing studies in India.
Online implementation of Pre-matric, Post-matric and Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship will be done through the common National Scholarship Portal at ww.scholarships.gov.in (a link of the site is also made available in the website of this Ministry i.e www.minorityaffairs.gov.in of Mobile App- National Scholarships (NSP). The date for Pre-matric Scholarship submission of Online applications for Fresh/ Renewal scholarship by students is from 15th July, 2019 to 15th October, 2019. Last date for verification of online applications by Institute Nodal Officer (First Level) is 31st October, 2019. While Last Date for verification of online applications by District Nodal Officers (Second Level) is 15, November, 2019.
Similarly, for Post-matric Scholarship submission of Online applications for Fresh/ Renewal scholarship by students is 15th July, 2019 to 31st October, 2019. Last date for verification of online applications by Institute Nodal Officer (First Level) is 15th November, 2019. While last date for verification of online applications by District Nodal Officers (Second Level) is 30th November, 2019.
Further, for Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship submission of Online applications for Fresh/ Renewal scholarship by students is 15th July, 2019 to 31st October, 2019. Last date for verification of online applications by Institute Nodal Officer (First Level) is 15th November, 2019. While last date for verification of online applications by District Nodal Officers (Second Level) is 30th November, 2019.
With regard to eligibility criteria for Pre-matric Scholarship, Post-matric Scholarship and Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship income criteria is Rs 1 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh respectively. Similarly, students applying for scholarship need to have 50% or equivalent grade in the previous final examination. The course being pursued should be of minimum one-year duration.
Besides, only online applications under these Schemes will be accepted and no request for offline applications will be entertained. It will be necessary for the eligible applicants to provide Aadhaar number while applying for scholarship and in case an individual does not possess Aadhar one can provide the details of alternate identification documents as stated in the Gazette Notification available on National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
