Rajouri, Sept 4: The Department of Botany of Govt. PG Rajouri organized an extension Lecture on Mushroom Cultivation and Technology here today.
Dr. Arvind Kumar Ishar, Senior Scientist, KVK Rajouri was the resource person whereas Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina was chief guest on the occasion.
Dr. Arvind spoke at length about the history, biology, cultivation techniques and technology, economic importance, value added and medicinal properties of various types of mushrooms.
Prof. Shakeel Raina also emphasized upon the students to become job generators than job seekers by opting such skill enhancement courses.
He appreciated the Department of Botany for organizing this pertinent talk.
Dr. Anwer Shah, Head of Botany Department presented the formal vote of thanks whereas Dr. Ashaq Malik welcomed the guests and also conducted the proceedings of the program.
A large no of students of different semesters and faculty members participated in this interactive lecture.
Prominent among others, present on the occasion were Dr. Abdul Qayoom Khan, Prof. Ghulam Abas, Prof. Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Prof. Iqbal Raina, Prof. Asia Rashid Bhat and Dr. Hilal Ahmed Qazi. |
