The Pharmacology Department of the GMC&H Jammu is crying for attention for the past few days as the roof of the department, which is linked with the ward, is leaking water and waterlogged at there. It is not only threatening the lives of staff as well as the attendants who use the way.
A video is in possession of ET shows the pitiable condition of the Pharmacology Department where water leakage can be seen right at the entrance besides several other places in the premises due to which, highly infectious grime is transported inside the wards as well as the department along with the shoes and slippers of the staff.
An official told the matter has been taken up with concerned executive agencies for its fixation but due to callous approach, the problem is remained the same despite spending lakhs of rupees. A huge amount is being spent on non-required works and projects but attention are not given to small and required work.
Moreover, the heaps of leakage plastic bags, saline bottles (garbage) dumped outside the wards' windows, posing serious threats of viral infection, patients' lives as well as Environment. Even as the lifting of garbage from the hospital premises is irregular, the present crisis has aggravated the problem.
