Hizb posters, asking Kashmiris to support ongoing shutdown, surface in South Kashmir

Jammu, Sept 5: Posters ascribed to militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahdeen, asking Kashmiris to 'strictly' support the ongoing strike, have surfaced in various areas of South Kashmir.
Posters were spotted pasted on walls and electric poles in various areas of Anantnag district also. The posters, attributed to militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahdeen, were also spotted in Kangigund area of Bijbehara.
"You people are unnecessarily playing vehicles on roads and thus damaging the ongoing struggle," read the posters.
An officer told Early Times that the militant outfit has threatened shopkeepers and others running business establishments including petrol pumps of dire consequences in case they opened their business.
He said that earlier the militants had also appeared in some villages of South Kashmir and asked people to strictly observe the shutdown. "The movement of private vehicles on roads in Kashmir and particularly in South Kashmir had unnerved the militants and pro-Pakistani elements are desperately trying to vitiate the atmosphere as they getting directions from across the border for doing so," he added.
The situation in South Kashmir is comparatively better than Srinagar, a police official told Early Times. He said that some posters were found pasted in Kanelwan village of Anantnag and police has taken note of it. "We are accreting its authenticity," he said.
Earlier, a 5 point Action Plan poster, attributed to Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani had also surfaced in various of South Kashmir. It asked people to support the ongoing shutdown and even asked government employees to stop attending offices.
The Government on Thursday restored 19 more telephone exchanges in Kashmir valley to ensure people don't suffer anyone. The Government offices are open but the attendance employees of is still thin. Similarly, schools haven't started functioning despite the passage a month now.
