| Election to BDCs: CEO appoints EROs/AEROs, notifies schedule for preparation of electoral rolls | | |
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 6: The J&K Election Authority today appointed Electoral Registration Officers/Assistant Electoral Registration Officers for the election of chairpersons of Block Development Councils (BDCs).
In pursuance to section 36, clause(i)of sub-rule 2 of Rule 102 of the J&K Panchayati Raj Rules, 1996, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) J&K has appointed these Electoral Registration Officer(EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) for the preparation of photo Electoral Rolls pertaining to the Blocks for the elections of Chairpersons of Block Development Councils in Jammu and Kashmir.
The jurisdiction of Block Development Councils vis-a-vis the constituent Panchayat Halqas shall be as per the SRO No.522 dated 03-09-2019 issued under endorsement No. RD/Pyt/196/2019 dated 03-09-2019 by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Besides, the CEO has also notified for schedule for the preparation of electoral rolls for the Election of Chairpersons of Block Development Councils.
According to the notification issued by the CEO, J&K, the process for preparation of electoral rolls shall start from 09-09-2019 and Draft Electoral Roll shall be published on 14-09-2019. The last date for filling of claims and objections shall be 19-09-19 and last date for disposal of claims and objections will be 21-09-2019. The final electoral roll shall be published on 23-09-2019.
