| Workers made aware about welfare schemes | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 6: Over 600 labourers today made aware about welfare schemes including Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan Yojna- a Pension Scheme, at a camp here at Akhnoor. An amount of Rs 3.50 lakh was also disbursed as financial assistance among the beneficiaries registered with Jammu and Kashmir Building Construction Workers Welfare Board, while 160 workers were registered on the spot under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan Yojna Pension Scheme.
The camp was organized by Assistant labour Commissioner Jammu, Renu Bala Saini in association with Nirman Mazdoor Sangh and Strawberry Grower Association of India.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Tanveer Iqbal Malik was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest briefed the workers about the pension scheme and motivated them to register themselves.
Senior officers of Labour Department, representatives of Strawberry Grower Association of India besides Panchs were present on the occasion.
