Awareness lecture on drug abuse held

Rajouri, Sept 6: Aimed towards sensitisation of school-going children against drugs abuse and its ill effects, Police organised an awareness lecture in Government Higher Secondary School Lamberi Nowshera.
On the directions of SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas, a team of police headed by SDPO Nowshera Brijesh Sharma and Incharge PP Lamberi, SI Mehmood Khan under the supervision of Addl SP Nowshera Girdhari Lal Sharma chaired the lecture during morning assembly. School students and staff attended the lecture which was held in a cordial atmosphere involving question-answer session. SDPO Nowshera Brijesh Sharma told the students about drugs abuse and ill effects of abuse on the health of individuals and effects on his family and society.
All the ill effects including health, social and economic were also discussed in detail and students were motivated to act as ambassadors against drugs abuse and addiction in society. They were also told about early symptoms which develop in an addict and students were asked to make their parents aware about it so that they can also check the addiction among youth.
