Back to Village programme: Div Com discusses identified works
Asks to open training centres, improve amenities

Jammu, September 07: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting of Deputy Commissioners to discuss works identified under Back to Village programme.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, Chief Engineer M&RE, Sudhir Gupta, Joint Director Handloom, Kanta Devi, Joint Director Handicraft, Anju Gupta, ACD Jammu, Aijaz Qaiser and other concerned officers of various departments, while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division along with concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The DCs informed the Div Com about the number of works identified in their respective districts under Back to Village Programme. A threadbare discussion was held on the kind of works.

The Div Com emphasised on taking up the works for development of Power, PHE and Horticulture sector. He also instructed the DCs for establishment of training centres, skill development centres of Handloom, Handicrafts and others in all the districts of the division. He also asked for establishment of vegetable and fruit markets in the districts.

Meanwhile, the Div Com asked the DCs to send status report of all the pending land acquisition cases in their respective districts. He further asked DCs to resolve all pending land acquisition cases pertaining to various departments, projects at the earliest.
