Backdoor appointees in LA likely to face job-threat in new UT

Jammu, Sep 7: The much publicized backdoor appointments took place in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (LA) during the tenure of three successive Speakers, is likely to haunt the beneficiaries of these scandals, as in the new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, they are unlikely to be continued before conclusion of the enquiries.
Reliable sources informed Early Times that during the tenure of successive elected state governments, number of backdoor appointments was made and despite repeated complaints and enquiries, no action was taken against the beneficiaries as well as their godfathers. "But after the formal coming of new Union Territory of the Jammu and Kashmir, the law enforcement agencies, which have been conducting the inquiries or have completed the inquiries against these appointments scandals, have to reach a conclusion and the government would have to take a call on the inquiry reports before giving a go-ahead to these backdoor appointees to continue their services", sources said.
Sources further claimed that in the new UT, the backdoor appointees would have to face serious job threat. "The beneficiaries of backdoor appointments, whose names were figured in the lists published by newspapers as well as in the cases filed by Vigilance Organization and in the PIL filed in court will have to be rendered jobless as well as their salaries would be stopped till the final outcome of the inquiry reports", sources said.
These backdoor appointees were enjoying the political patronages, during the elected successive state government's tenure as they were either political workers or holding close allegiance to power corridors, which helped them to evade any action. "The General Administration Department as well as the other departments concerned have been reluctant to take decisive action against these beneficiaries of corrupt practices but after new UT comes into existence, things would not be the same", sources said.
