Jammu, Sept 7: A Class-IX student of Delhi Public School Jammu, Harshitaa has compiled a poem, dedicated to the teachers.
The poem title is "Angels on Earth" and is a beautiful tribute to the teachers from a young disciple, who terms the teachers as Angels on Earth, who nurture the children. The poem reads as:
ANGELS ON EARTH
Far away in another world
Lord once asked, his angels pearled
Dear, dear, in the land below
Who seems the finest fellow?
My Lord, we know not
Such is knowledge we yet haven't got
What is a priceless element humans collect?
Though its true value at times isn't felt!
To develop, it gives us courage
I wonder, if you speak of knowledge?
To tell me would you care
What are valuable things they share?
Among every girl and every boy
Highest value is of learning and joy
At last, at the hands of whom
Do we all see children groom?
Your question's answer I've found
You speak of teachers all around
My Lord, it truly is an occupation fine
Perhaps, even at the top of the line
Dear, dear, it's a great neglection
To call it but an occupation
Teachers are the guiding sparks of light
Who help their students reach their true might
Teachers are celestial angels on earth
