Sujandhar Nag Devta Mela concludes

REASI, Sept 8:The three-day Sujandhar Nag Devta Mela concluded at Sujandhar village of block Bhomag, Reasi here today.
The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib while Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Kumar Sharma was also present. The fair, organised in association with the district administration, witnessed overwhelming participation of people from various parts of the district and state as well to seek blessings of the Diety. A number of stalls of local and traditional cuisines were established besides a community kitchen was set up for the devotees thronging the mela. The second day was also marked with various cultural activities. The DC asked the people to plant trees and save water for survival of mankind. She also asked them to maintain the pristine glory and natural splendor of the Shrine. DC applauded the role of Sarpanchs and locals towards ensuringn plastic-free mela.Cultural programs were presented by the artistes from J&K Academy of Arts Culture and Languages and other artists including, singers like Raju Vijaypuria, Anjusha Sharma and other Dogra cultural items by Romalo Ram and Party and Sars Bharti. A special performance of Dogra folk dance Kud was also witnessed by the audience. The mela ended with traditional dangal, wrestling matches.
