JPPF hails abrogation of Articles 370, 35-A
9/8/2019 10:04:44 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 8: Jammu Province People's Forum (JPPF) has hailed the abrogation of Article 370- and 35-A.
Addressing the meeting President Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj said that the exact position after the historical change shall evolve only after 31st October 2019 as the public will come to know the exact gain and losses in the days to come. He demanded the elections to the J&K assembly only after the delimitation process is completed based on 2021 census which will definitely clear the right empowerment of Jammuites in the assembly segments.
Census 2011 cannot be relied upon as the population figures of Kashmir have been deliberately fudged and the Jammu population figures have been ignored.
It is really embarrassing that the BJP legislature with mass Jammu verdict could not muster courage to represent an iota of aspirations of Jammuites before the Govt of India during the course of abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A and reorganization of the state.
During the meeting the demand of creation of Separate Regional council for Jammu gained ground in order to ensure the redressal of employment and development which was deliberately ignored by the Kashmir Centric Governments and the unemployed youth continued suffering from the bungling in the selection lists.
It was also suggested to submit a detailed memorandum of demands to every minister of government of India scheduled to visit Jammu & Kashmir in the near future. A copy of the same memorandum shall be submitted to Governor Satya Pal Malik for granting an audience with him. The Civil society wants to convey their feelings on the reorganization of State recently ordered and the fate of the standing demands of the Jammuites for the last 70 years.
Besides working president M S Katoch the meeting was attended by Inderjeet Khajuria, M L Sharma, Avinash Bhatia, Sunita Sharma, Kamla Sharma, Rajinder Gupta, RS Jamwal, Col. S S Pathania, Rashpal Singh, Prof. Darshan Bhatia, Balmukund Baru, Puran Chand Sharma, S C Suri, Ram Rattan Sharma, Ch. Kamal Singh, Uday Chand , B K Sawhney, K S Katoch and others.
