Fortnightly literary meet conducted by PLS

Jammu, Sept 8: Punjab Lekhak Sabha (Regd.), Jammu today organized a fortnightly literary meet at Tagore Public Hr. Secondary School, Rani Bagh, Digiana, Jammu where Gurdeep Kaur, a well known Punjabi short story writer presided over the meeting. Writers and poets of Punjabi attended the meet and presented their creations.
Dr. Monojit, President, PLS welcomed the poets and writers who attended the meeting. Speaking on this occasion he threw light on the book release function of PLS scheduled to be held tomorrow where a Punjabi translation book written by Smt. Gurdeep Kaur would be released. He told that the translation of autobiography book titled 'In Line of Duty', written by Lieutenant General Harbaksh Singh.
A short story was read out by S. Kulwant Singh, a Kashmir based writer, on the theme of values and show off in one's life. Jang S. Verman, Devinder Singh, Dr. Baljit Raina, Kulwant Singh, Dr. Monojit and Amar Singh Kuka recited their poems on various themes and values in contemporary life. An interactive discussion on the pros and cons of the literary and thematic aspects of the poems and short story was held.
In her address Gurdeep Kaur said that there is a vast scope of literary field of Punjabi language. She said that the translation book being released tomorrow has the capacity of reflecting and depicting literary scope in Punjbai language.
The Vote of Thanks was extended by Dr. Baljit Raina, General Secretary, PLS.
