Jammu, Sept 8: Editor Early Times Munish Gupta has thanked people for endorsing his vision and welcoming him with open arms.
Carrying forward his mass contact programme Govindpur Chatha (Old Satwari) Munish said, "The love and affection which people have given me since the day I have started my outreach programme has overwhelmed me."
"During the past three months I have met the people of all walks of life and most of them have endorsed my idea that we need a change ensure development in Jammu", said Munish, who would be contesting the forthcoming assembly elections as an independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency.
He said, "My decision to join politics is based only one principle i.e. I want to serve my people and become their voice. I need your support and encouragement to turn the table on the leaders has represented us during the past seven decades."
"The forthcoming assembly elections are an opportunity for the people to say goodbye to the leaders, who during all these years have just fed them with slogans", Munish said. "People are fed up of the lip service of non-performers, who after getting elected turn their backs towards the electorate. I hope the masses will make a new beginning and vote for a change", he added.
