IGP urges people to strictly adhere to new traffic rules

JAMMU, Sept 9: Traffic Police Jammu city today organised a mega event regarding awareness on recently amended traffic rules under Motor Vehicle Amendment Act 2019.
IGP Traffic J&K, Alok Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Among others IGP Armed, Danesh Rana, senior officers from civil administration besides retired and senior functionaries of concerned department, representatives from Automobile and petrol pump associations, transporters and students were present on the occasion.
IGP said that main objective of this event is to spread road safety awareness among general masses in order to reduce the scale of fatal road accidents. In this regard, he emphasized the need of collective efforts by all the stakeholders. He made a fervent appeal to the people to strictly adhere to amended traffic rules for their own safety and safety of others as well.
IGP exhorted upon the concerned departments to organise regular awareness camps on traffic rules and laws in educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities.
SSP Traffic Jammu, Joginder Singh and Dy SP North Sachin Gupta highlighted various activities of traffic department through power point presentation.
A short play on amended traffic rules was presented by the group of renowned artists of Vijay Mallah.
Later, the dignitaries released a booklet on amended traffic rules.
