Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 9: Even three months after the directions passed by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to implement the court directions in letter and spirit with regard to continuing the services of supporting staff including GRS under MGNREGA, the ACD Kishtwar and the concerned BDOs have failed to implement the directions in this regard. They even failed to release the salaries of all those employees who had approached the Jammu and Kashmir High Court with a plea to release their pending wages.
Pertinent to mention that around 48 such GRS and supporting staff has been deprived of their salaries due to which their families were suffering as the financial resources have stopped for them.
As per the details available with "Early Times" the aggrieved GRS & supporting staff today approach the office of DC Kishtwar and sought his help in addressing the problems faced by them and made a desperate appeal to him as DPC of the department of RDD&PR to direct the concerned authorities to release their pending salaries which has not been released from nearly two years in their favour. DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana after giving patience hearing to the concerns raised by the visiting MGNREGA supporting staff directed ACD Kishtwar for appropriate and necessary action besides also assured them that he will render all possible help to them in addressing their long pending issue. Meanwhile, some GRS & MGNREGA supporting staff raised serious allegations of harassment on part of incharge BDO Trigam adding that the said BDO's behaviour towards the staff members is harassing. They also said that he is even not signing the documents demanded by the higher authorities with regard to working of GRS and supporting staff by out rightly refusing to forward any details pertaining to them. They said that despite government ordered the posting of permanent BDO to Trigam block since the incumbent BDO Trigam cannot hold the charge of the BDO post since he is not eligible for the said post. The sources told the "Early Times" that ACD Kishtwar has prevented the newly posted BDO from assuming the charge despite Director RDD directed the ACD Kishtwar to allow the joining of the newly posted BDO Trigam.
