Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sept 9: A top most Kashmiri politician presently under detention at Hari Niwas Palace in Srinagar has complained of depression, sources said adding he is likely to get consultation from psychiatrist at Government Medical Hospital Srinagar.
Sources said the politician, who is understood to have grown beard during his detention has conveyed it that he facing depression and that he was unable to concentrate properly. Sources said the said politician has also conveyed it to his family members who had come to meet his at the palace about his health condition.
Sources said that the matter has been brought into the notice of authority and that he was likely to get due medical consultation. "Basically, every detainee is getting due to medical attention and consultation as and when needed and so he is getting as well. But here in this case he has complained of unusual problem (depression) and thus is likely to get consultation from the concerned medicos," said a source in know of matter. Though the politician in question is trying to stay fit by doing fitness exercises on regular basis, his being the lone detainee at the palace is being seen a cause of the depression as per the family sources. Initially it was him and his counterpart from rival party who were detained at the Hari Niwas Palace in the ground and the first floor separately. But following an altercation between the two, the other one was shifted to a VIP hut in near Chashmeshahi Forest.
It is pertinent to mention that since the abrogation of article 370 on Aug 5 around three dozen politicians were detained. While the Centaur Hotel on the banks of Dal Lake has become a sub jail for most of such political detainees, some of senior politicians have been kept in separate villas in police custody. Despite repeated attempts the concerned could not be contacted for the comments.
